Today’s work life is like playing one day international, 20-20, and a test match cricket at the same time. There are times when running is seen as slow and galloping is considered ideal. Other times demand running at a sustained speed for a longer duration stretching the individual to his fullest and occasions also arise when not losing is winning. Typically all ingredients of the three varieties of cricket are covered. Thus one has to be aware of rules of the game, fair play and the goal at a given point of time. Also as in cricket one has to inculcate certain behavioral and attitudinal changes. You are called the reviewed and some of the actual/real life situations for you are discussed and quoted.  ·       As in a pin ball game the reviewed should know the shots that would fetch the high, medium and low marks. ·       The reviewed has to accept certain facts of life with regard to his current Reviewi...

CRIME AND PUNISHMENT

"I have committed a mistake which they say is fraud".  This would be the first sentence of the peon when he was asked why you were suspended. The peon was a tribal recruited in the bank as a first in his family if not in his clan as a government servant. He was a very proud employee wearing the uniform with pride and a sense of identity unlike other peons who considered it ignominy. After three months of working he needed one thousand rupees and hence added the number 1 before his balance of 438 to make it 1438 and withdrew it. 'Dana' is the way people who evade being good fall for, most often. 'Dana' is nothing but buying out people with favors and in present day materialistic world it is all the more easier for leaders to choose the apt item of 'Dana' which different people opt for. The role of leadership becomes a little complicated and demands the real skill of the leader both in strategy and approach when the last two options have to ...

A driver once told me that as a child when he was drawing water from a common well, the bucket by the mistake of someone who tied a loose knot went down the well and he was threatened by many other users of the well that they would get him beaten by his father and all claimed the drowned bucket to be theirs. The poor driver as a child knew that his angry father would beat him up without enquiry and was worried each time the persons who threatened him interacted with his father. For a week he did not tell his father but spent under fear till the real owner solved the issue.  The behavior of his father made the boy distrust him for any moral or emotional support especially in a dispute or crisis forcing him to develop a character that was nervous fearful and shy in dealing the unknown. As a driver he always feared quarrel by others who may commit traffic offense. In another case when I had guests staying with me the boy came running from the ground looking tense...
