NIAGARA VISIT THE ULTIMATE HAPPINESS TO USA VISIT

THE VIBGYOR IS A BONUS

Radisson Blu hotel balcony, overlooking the flowing river Niagara and the staying bright blue swimming pool of the hotel was a sight to behold with the flickering lights of the cars that speed across the border on the other side of the river in Canada adding significance to the location. It was 11 pm night cold and chilly wind blowing yet I sat with a cup of coffee on hand reminiscing the grandeur of the cascading natural wonder that also splashed salty aqua chilling and thrilling visitors. It was disposable apron and usable shoe that was provided to all visitors in the visit to Cave of the winds, yet it was sprinkling and biting drops of icy water that people preferred as the waterfall virtually interacted physically with the visitors.

AT NIAGARA FORT WITH MODEL DRESSED AS CANADIAN KING

No wonder as we were waiting to board our bus for the trip in New York city, people of all ages displayed their mood through their attire, accessories and giggles as they passed time waiting for the bus to arrive. Their apparel was sparse with short skirts, Bermuda, trousers all ensured to cover the body to the least and the Caps (mandatorily worn on the reverse) goggles that was kept more on the cap, with frame perching on the ears, or hung through shirt button all displaying a mood of gay abandon. Their frequent giggling, chuckling and laughing matched the mood that their costume displayed.

Five hours was the time allotted for us as we entered the cave of the winds at Niagara in the evening at 4 pm. People simply displayed ecstasy and joy in excitement viewing, snapping, hooting and at times throwing caution to the winds inviting stare from the guards. The fall was so huge and hammering that the entire route to reach the pinnacle point was wet and slippery at places. The strong iron grills though helped to hold as one climbed, the uneven and sharp surface at some spots tested the foot maneuverability. Yet the youth displayed joyous frenzy as they hopped and danced through also helping the elders at times.

As one climbed the route, the sprinkling of water drops were getting thicker but people instead of evading, barged in to get wet. Children in particular screamed and howled in glee. Bridal Veil Falls, how it was formed, who discovered the naturally formed caves that guided to the falls, and that is the smallest of the three Niagara falls were immaterial to the crowd who simply enjoyed hardly reading all details described and displayed in plagues as one entered after buying ticket.    Lighting in the night added opulence to the grandeur of the falls as the flowing water glittered colorfully gaining adjectives of majestic, stupendous and magnificent.

I went to bed almost at midnight wondering on the day’s experience that was beyond my imagination and expectation in my first outing of sightseeing in the United States of America.

THE MAD FRENZY AT ITS BEST NEAR THE MAIN FALL

THE ULTIMATE FEELING OF TOURISM TO USA (CANADA IN THE BACKGROUND)

Niagara fort seemed to have paled in to insignificance due to the majestic falls though that place was too good to be missed with history of defining the border between USA and Canada briefly recorded in plagues. It was grace, respect and mutual appreciation that finalized border sharing between the two nations unlike as it happens elsewhere in many places around the world.  Niagara River continued its flow all the way from the falls in the city of Buffalo reaching the fort and beyond touching the fort by almost kissing its wall throwing an amazing composite view of hill, river and fort with Canada watching from the other side of the river.

Maid of the mist is the name given to the journey by ferry that ventured to go and touch the main water fall where too the decibel levels of the crowd matched the sound of the falls descending not only from great height but was also spread wide as if it has endless wings. As the ferry reached closest to the water mass before it turned back the crowd was frenzied in their reaction. For many Canada was seen from the closest without a visa and those who received “welcome to Canada” message in their cellphone were all the more thrilled. People also yearned and looked at the bridge that linked Canada across Niagara with a check post fencing out the unauthorized. Thousands of seagulls were seen perched on the side of the rocks that sat in the lap of the falls and flew across to Canada without any restriction.

Pleasant climate and spread of Indian restaurants in Niagara, almost fifty percent in the bus being Indians with Gujarati in majority some with Bank of Baroda connections all added to the charm of the trip. Sunset at 8.45pm was also a pleasant feel as people also spoke of wintry experience when the huge falls freeze to ice. I could appreciate the charisma that Niagara Falls lived with when my attempts searching for subsequent tours from New York without Niagara was so elusive.

After the memorable balcony experience of Radisson Blu I too voted for Niagara Falls as the Numero Uno among many other splendorous places of visit in the United States of America.
