I visited Washington DC not knowing what is in store. The guide took us around the White House to get a view from all angles though due to parking issues the photo shoot could be done only from a distance.  But there was no dearth of parks, gardens, lawn, with fountains, pools, and ponds in between in that sprawling complex spread over acres of land having memorials and statues.

THE MAJESTIC ABRAHAM LINCOLN STATUE AND THE THRONGING CROWD

Abraham Lincoln is seated majestically in the sprawling area at a prominent stage. From there one can view at a distance, equally majestic pillar that represents George Washington memorial. Hundreds of locals and tourists throng the place particularly on holidays.

Also, in view was Korean War memorial and yet another for the one and only Martin Luther King Jr. It was a memorable experience as I approached the place to listen to the famous speech " I have a dream " of the late leader by a young man. The only regret was the heavy crowd prevented photography.

TWO SUPERB BUILDINGS IN THE CITY OF WASHINGTON DC

'Indian vegetarian' was understood and I had a sumptuous lunch with a bottle of mango juice as pinnacle of my visit to one of the 'must see' places in not only Washington DC but in USA as well.
