NEWS :

Raja's family has shifted from the heart of the city to the suburb of Chennai beyond Tambaram.

Listener : Why?

Since Raja has got only one year of service left, he can manage travelling to the city somehow, but his daughter got admission to a college which is very near the place they shifted. His son is any way in IIT and is staying in hostel.

Listener: That is good. I think they would also save good money in rent. It is good for them.

Gossip monger (GM): How do you know? Who told you?

I met Raja in Ram's daughter marriage and he told me.

GM: Is Ram that close to you? What gift you gave?

I gave a gift voucher.

GM : How Raja knows Ram? Does Ram know Raja has shifted?
..............hm

GM : What is the rent Raja is paying in the new house? Must have got a good saving of three thousand rupees at least. Must he having trouble in paying his son's IIT hostel and also daughter's college fees. He is retiring next year and has to save for daughter's marriage, but by then his son being in IIT would get a good job. Still I doubt whether he would help his father.

The listener literally ran away. This is a true conversation between a lady of 45 years (GM) and her neighbor. The conversation in 1 was with her husband by the same man.

Now this incident literally is now part of training content as to how in professional and personal life one has to avoid and literally steer clear of such Gossip Mongers and focus on their job on hand.

EDUCATION AND SCHOOLS

It was a quiz program to test the knowledge of Tamil. Three schools participated out of which two had good brand value and were also from urban/metro areas. The third was from a small remote village near Kinathukadavu in Coimbatore district. I was delighted when the boys from this school won and earned handsome rewards in cash and kind. It is a middle school of less than 500 students and KPA of teachers include visiting homes of students and convincing parents on value of education to send students to schools instead of work. In others words marketing of a school which did not have brand value. The students wore new uniform for the program and were beaming with confidence to compete. The urge for knowledge and consequent respect and recognition it fetches ignited their spirit to be competitive.
