MADHYA PRADESH TOURISM ----- "BARGI" THE LESSER KNOWN GREATER PLACE

SHORT WATERFALL BUT ROARING

Merit deserves more recognition and publicity to flourish than the mediocre. I found two excellent tourist spots in India Valmiki Nagar in Bihar and Bargi in Madhya Pradesh not being known even with in their own States.

Bargi is around fifty km from Jabalpur but I reached it after around six hours of travel from another excellent tourist attraction called Amar Gandak. The journey was through thick forest bifurcated by the road full of trees whose branch extended to the other side of the road with the silver oak trees adding variety. There were more monkey families than human and vehicle population en-route.

SUNSET VIEW FROM THE HOTEL

A government run hotel in Bargi was the only place to stay but was quite luxurious and sitting in the balcony with a cup of tea and watching sunrise and sunset across the vast sea of water of Narmada river was so relaxing.  Bargi also has a couple of picnic spots around it where nature is pristine.

Tourism is relaxing. Tourism overseas is relaxation and pride. Indian tourism is invariably inter woven with temples. Hence it would give mental peace that is not only relaxing but also rejuvenating.

NARMADA UDGAM-- THE ORIGIN OF HOLY RIVER NARMADA
Culture, ethos and traditional designs and affairs always enrich when perspective is understood. Tourism in India combines ecstatic holiday spots and enriching religious places which are also equally worthy tourist attractions.

I saw many such places in a short visit to Madhya Pradesh and wished for greater limelight to them.
